Burnout: how to get out?

The professional exhaustion syndrome, which is more generally called burnout, is a mental disorder that results from chronic stress at work. The number of cases of burnout is constantly increasing, especially since the pandemic.

The numbers speak for themselves. Indeed, according to an OpinionWay survey for the Human Footprint firm of October 2021, the burnout rate in companies has doubled in one year. In 2021, 2 million people are concerned and 44% of employees are in psychological distress, 20% of managers.

How can this increase in cases be explained? What are the signs that should alert us? Is it possible to prevent burnout? And how do we get out of it?

To answer these questions, Geraldine Mayr receives the professional coach Gael Conan. Victim of a burnout, he founded with Élodie Gourmez the association Sortir de mon burnout to support people in this situation and help them manage the rest of their professional career.
