Burglary and vandalism at Liberal MP Enrico Ciccone’s constituency office

The constituency office of Liberal MP Enrico Ciccone, in the Montreal borough of Lachine, was the target of burglars and vandals overnight from Tuesday to Wednesday.

The MNA for Marquette said he was “shaken and helpless” in the face of these events.

His office confirmed, in a press release, that the vandal thieves did not skimp to achieve their ends. “The criminals had to break down a wall adjoining a neighboring business to break into Mr. Ciccone’s office,” a statement said.

“They caused a lot of material damage before fleeing with the computers of all the employees, as well as the server which records all the video images from the security cameras”, we continue.

According to this press release, Mr. Ciccone says he sees it as an incomprehensible attack on services to citizens.

“I am extremely saddened and worried, particularly for my employees and the citizens who trust us. A county office is the home of citizens. It should be untouchable. We are here to serve people, ”he says in the missive.

Threat

The MNA for Marquette had recently received threats by telephone and, faced with this accumulation, the Montreal police officers handed over the investigation to the Sûreté du Québec, but it is not known if the two events are connected.

Liberal leader Dominique Anglade expressed her own dismay on social media, denouncing “violence, threats and intimidation”.

Mrs. Anglade asserts that “the best response is to continue to stand up for what you believe in! »
