Bayern Munich’s French international striker, Kingsley Coman, left with an injury after around twenty minutes of play in Augsburg, adding his name to a long list of injured players for the Munich team in recent days. He was replaced by the other Guadeloupean in the group, Mathys Tel.
For Munich’s opening score from a corner from Raphaël Guerreiro in the 23rd minute of play, Kingsley Coman broke away from the far post to try to put a deflection from Leon Goretzka at the near post back into play. In ambush, Aleksander Pavlovic did not tremble to score his first goal with Bayern.
Injured during this action, Coman was treated and joined the Bayern sidelines helped by two members of the Bavarian staff, without putting his left foot on the ground.
He was replaced by his compatriot, Bayern’s other Guadeloupean, Mathys Tel (26th).
“It’s a knee injury. We have to wait for the pictures to reveal more, but it appears to be a serious injury, because it was painful and it was impossible to continue. We’re going to check the ligaments tomorrow on imaging. I don’t want to speculate“, explained Thomas Tuchel after the meeting on the microphone of the broadcaster Sky.
This injury comes less than three days after a late Matchday 13 match against Union Berlin (Munich victory 1-0), during which French defenders Dayot Upamecano and Austrian Konrad Laimer, as well as German defensive midfielder Joshua Kimmich, were injured.
Laimer will miss up to eight weeks and Upamecano is expected to be out for three weeks, according to the German press.
