“The production of OD Martinique announces that it is removing contestants directly associated with bullying from the adventure, the production said in a statement. The candidates, and their families, will be supervised and supported to face this reversal. » The Press learned that it is Isaack, Félix and Philippe who will have to pack their bags. Félix had just been eliminated, but the production would have ousted him anyway, we are told. These events have not yet been broadcast, since a delay of three weeks separates the shooting from the broadcast.
Anger has been brewing for several days among fans of the reality TV show after a candidate, Jonathan, suffered the harassment of certain other participants. A plan had finally been orchestrated by his roommates to push him to leave the show.
Last week, when the boys had to eliminate a girl, they showed the door to Clémence, the candidate with whom Jonathan was developing a relationship, with the avowed aim of getting him to leave. Targeted around the discussion table by all his roommates, Jonathan chose to leave with Clémence.
Following his departure a week and a half ago, many viewers expressed their displeasure with the situation, accusing Double occupation to trivialize what was perceived by many as bullying.
Since the beginning of the adventure, the boys of the house where the candidates live visibly excluded Jonathan from the group. This sidelining was mentioned several times during the broadcasts, although the reasons for the conflict were never clear. Spectators have regularly raised their discomfort with the situation.
Isaack, Philippe and Félix have been shown on screen several times expressing their resentment towards Jonathan.
“All candidates forOD Martinique who continue the adventure, as well as the candidates already excluded, will receive training given by Professor Stéphane Villeneuve, Professor in the Department of Didactics University of Quebec in Montreal and researcher in the prevention of Bullying and Digital Skills in order to raise their awareness and equip them to deal with acts of intimidation and the means to avoid them, ”indicates the production in its press release.
This is not the first time that the production of the popular show has had to manage the crises that the actions of its candidates generate. Last year, Double occupation had already shown the door to a candidate, Alexandre, who had behavior deemed unacceptable.
