Building Commission | Audrey Murray nomination well received

The construction community has given a favorable welcome to the new CEO of the Commission de la construction du Québec, Audrey Murray, who has just been appointed to this position by the Council of Ministers.

Mme Murray, a defeated candidate for the Coalition Avenir Québec in the October 2022 elections, had previously worked on the Construction Commission and had also chaired the Labor Market Partners Commission.

She succeeds Diane Lemieux at the head of the CCQ. And it comes at a delicate time, when the Minister of Labor, Jean Boulet, must present this fall a major reform of the industry, which will notably affect the versatility of professions and training.

The Quebec Construction Association, an employers’ association, said it was happy with his appointment, especially since Mme Murray “knows the industry perfectly” and that she has “all the necessary qualifications to sort things out and support the different stakeholders to carry out” the upcoming reform.

At the Corporation of General Contractors of Quebec, CEO Éric Côté finds this appointment of Mr.me Murray. He points out that when she was at the Construction Commission, she helped “modernize” the industry.
