After a few days of reflection, the hope of the Buffalo Sabers indicated to the organization that he would not make the leap immediately into the professional ranks. He will instead return to Northeastern University in the fall to play a second season there.

Levi is coming off a sensational season in net for the Huskies, winning 21 of the 32 games he has played, but mostly turning in some outstanding individual stats. His 1.54 goals-against-average placed him among the best goaltenders in American college hockey, while his .952 save percentage was near the all-time league record.

En route to the NCAA National Championship, Northeastearn lost 2-1 in the Round of 16 to Western Michigan University.

The former Lac-St-Louis Lions was drafted in the seventh round by the Florida Panthers in 2020. Last summer, he was traded to the Buffalo Sabers, an organization that holds him in high esteem and sees in him one of his best hopes in front of the net. Levi had a “good talk” with team management last week about his future. However, he wanted to take a few days to reflect, in particular to discuss with his family, before revealing his intentions to the Sabres. However, they retain exclusive rights to the young man. They have until August 2024 to agree on a professional contract with him.
