(Orchard Park) The NFL suspended Buffalo Bills offensive lineman Bobby Hart for one game on Tuesday.
Posted yesterday at 7:48 p.m.
Hart hit a Titans player and then a coach in the head after a 41-7 victory for the Titans on Monday. He was suspended without pay for unsportsmanlike conduct and won’t be able to join the team until after the Bills’ game against the Dolphins in Miami on Sunday.
Hart can appeal the decision made by NFL Vice President of Football Operations Jon Runyan.
In a letter sent to Hart, Runyan mentioned that the altercation happened near the end zone as both teams were leaving the field.
According to Runyan, as other players shook hands in the end zone near the stadium tunnel leading to the team locker rooms, Hart was looking for a Titans player, whose identity has not been revealed, and had to be restrained by a trainer.
Hart is then accused of clenching his fist and punching a Titans coach, whose identity has also not been released.
“Your aggressive behavior could have caused serious injury, and clearly does not reflect the high standards of sportsmanship expected of a professional,” Runyan wrote.
Hart took to the field 17 times Monday, including seven on special teams. In his eighth season on the Goodell circuit, he’s backed up for guard Rodger Saffold.
Hart is familiar with the Titans after appearing in three games with the Titans last season. His rights were waived by the Titans in November and later claimed by the Bills.
