Budget 2024: Éric Ciotti (LR) does not rule out filing a statement of censorship against the government during the examination in the fall

The 2024 budget bill will arrive in Parliament next fall. “We will file a counter-project”announced Éric Ciotti, guest of “4 Vérités” on France 2, Wednesday July 12, after having castigated the management of public finances by the government, deploring that“we live on credit”. “In particular, we will propose a project to restore public accounts with more means for the authority of the State and fewer means for an unproductive social redistribution which installs non-work”, said the president of the Les Républicains (LR) party.

“We have institutional weapons”

If what LR offers is ultimately not taken into account, “all hypotheses are possible”said Éric Ciotti, not excluding the tabling of a motion of censure against the government during the examination of the 2024 budget. “We have institutional weapons that we can use. I forbid myself nothing”he added. Until then, Éric Ciotti has called on Emmanuel Macron to “to act” taking “measures to better manage public money”as the decline“benefits which are distributed indiscriminately and which are costly for those who work”.
