TotalEnergies announced the extension of the cap to 1.99 euros per liter on the price of gasoline and diesel in its 3,400 French stations, “as long as prices remain high”. “It’s up to the government to act, because we could do better than that”, estimates Clémence Guetté, guest of “4 Vérités” on France 2, Wednesday September 13. For the La France insoumise MP from Val-de-Marne, Total can afford to block fuel prices because the oil group has “19 billion euros in global net profits this year is the record of all records”.

Block the prices of “school supplies”

“Bruno Le Maire should act rather than asking Total to make an effort”, adds Clémence Guetté. The MP wants to block the prices of gasoline, but also those of “foodstuffs” and “school supplies”. During this back-to-school period, “the average basket for school supplies is 233 euros, that’s +20%, it’s absolutely huge. People can’t absorb that, especially when salaries don’t keep up”points the finger at the elected LFI.
