The Minister of the Economy Bruno Le Maire promised the Assembly on Monday July 25 a “significant increase” of hospital resources in 2023 with a “full compensation” the rise in the index point for civil servants, when examining purchasing power measures.

In front of the deputies, Bruno Le Maire assured to take “two commitments” : “Yes, there will be a significant increase in Ondam (National Health Insurance Expenditure Objective) in 2023 and yes, we will fully compensate public hospitals for the point increase” index of civil servants.

Reacting to a series of amendments from La France insoumise, the Minister of the Economy considered that the budget debate on hospitals had no place in the evening discussion but in the examination in the autumn of the draft Social Security Financing Act (PLFSS), the Social Security budget.

The package of measures for purchasing power provides for a 3.5% increase in the value of the index point for civil servants, which serves as the basis for their remuneration.
