“We consider that Bruno Le Maire attacks the unemployed because he does not look for savings where they should be found”, castigates Thomas Ménage, guest on franceinfo Monday March 18. The spokesperson for the National Rally reacts to the reduction in the duration of unemployment insurance compensation proposed by the Minister of the Economy. The RN deputy for Loiret adds about Bruno Le Maire: “he is perhaps more busy releasing books, thinking about what comes next, rather than being fully alongside the French”.

Thomas Ménage understands the logic according to which reducing the duration of compensation would motivate job seekers to actively look for work. However, “we are not going to sacrifice tens of thousands of people who are looking for work but who cannot find it”taking the example “women who, from the age of 55, cannot find a job”.

The RN spokesperson proposes “to tackle the employment of seniors and training”. He adds that“we must support those who want to work in our country and avoid stigmatizing them as [Bruno Le Maire] does it today”.

Concerning the notable drop in unemployment in France, Thomas Ménage explains it by “bullshit jobs”or poor workers, “more and more numerous”. According to the MP, “we must recreate wealth and real jobs so that the French are convinced at the end of the month that they will be able to live with dignity after paying for their gas or doing their shopping.”
