TF1 recently announced a major change that is shaking up the French audiovisual landscape. In a press release broadcast this Thursday, October 5, 2023, the channel welcomed the surprise arrival of Bruce Toussaint on its airwaves from January 2024. This major transfer was confirmed by the first channel, while BFMTV, as for her, suffered a notable loss.
Bruce Toussaint, about to celebrate his 50th birthday, thus puts an end to a six-season collaboration with the great rival of CNEWS. During this period, he hosted a three-hour continuous news segment every morning, between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m.
In the TF1 press release, the announcement of the arrival of Bruce Toussaint coincides with the launch of a brand new morning show. The official statement is sober but full of enthusiasm: “Very happy to announce the upcoming arrival of Bruce Toussaint to present a new morning news and daily life show at the start of the year on TF1”. This broadcast will be enriched by a team of columnists. A masterstroke that directly competes Telematin on France 2.

Unfortunately, Bruce Toussaint’s new position does not seem to excite some of his colleagues who did not hesitate to attack him harshly on the Web. “Regardless of ideology, it still remains fascinating to see journalists who have only had audience flops wherever they go continue to be promoted from channel to channel. Respect. At one time we rewarded success but that was before…”confided the former CNEWS journalist, Eric Morillot, this Friday, October 6, 2023. A well-felt tackle which may not please the main person concerned…
