Bruce Springsteen returns to the stage after health problems

(Phoenix) Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band returned to the stage Tuesday night at the Footprint Center in Phoenix in a triumphant revival of the previously postponed world tour.

In September, the 74-year-old famous singer announced that his tour would be postponed until 2024, citing a doctor’s advice as he recovered from a peptic ulcer.

At Tuesday night’s show, the “Boss,” dressed in dark jeans and a red plaid flannel shirt, had the energy of a man half his age. The 29-song concert lasted just under three hours and the singer showed no fatigue; he danced, played the harmonica and even tore his shirt at the end of the show.

Springsteen briefly spoke to the crowd about his illness before playing his final song, I’ll See You In My Dreamssolo on stage.

“Phoenix, I first want to apologize if there was any discomfort as we had to move the show last time […] I hope we didn’t bother you too much. »

This year has been particularly difficult for Springsteen. In addition to his health problems, his mother, Adele Ann Springsteen, who was frequently seen dancing at his shows, died in January. She was 98 years old.

The 2024 edition of the tour began in Phoenix and will conclude on November 22 in Vancouver, after several nights in Canadian venues. The “Boss” is also scheduled to perform in Montreal on October 31 and in Ottawa on November 9.

The tour will travel to 17 countries on 52 dates, including a special performance on September 15 where Springsteen will headline the Sea.Hear.Now festival in his hometown of Asbury Park, New Jersey.
