(Brossard) A woman and two children were discovered unconscious in a residential tower in Brossard, Montérégie, following a fire.

It was the triggering of an alarm for a fire that led the emergency services, around 1 a.m. Sunday morning, to the premises of the accommodation in question located on Saint-Laurent Boulevard, near Saint-Charles Street. .
The victims were taken to hospital, where unfortunately the woman was pronounced dead. The children were still in critical condition shortly before dawn.
It was the Longueuil agglomeration fire safety service (SSIAL) that called the police.
A man was also arrested at the scene.
“He is currently considered an important witness and he is met by our police officers,” said agent François Boucher, spokesman for the Longueuil agglomeration police department (SPAL).
It was impossible to know immediately if traces of violence were found on the bodies of the victims, so as not to harm the ongoing police investigation.
As for the fire, it did not require the complete evacuation of the residential tower, the damage having been limited to the apartment in question.
The SPAL investigation is continuing in order to clarify the circumstances surrounding this event.
