Brossard | Motorist dies in accident

(Montreal) A man in his thirties lost his life following a car accident that occurred early Sunday morning on rue de Champagnier, in Brossard.

The Longueuil Agglomeration Police Service (SPAL) was called to intervene at the scene of the accident shortly before 7 a.m.

When first responders arrived, the man was unconscious and seriously injured. The motorist was treated by police and paramedics, but he was pronounced dead in the following minutes.

The passenger of the vehicle, a woman aged in her twenties, suffered a nervous shock and required treatment.

According to SPAL agent François Boucher, rue de Champagnier was closed to traffic in the morning to allow reconstruction experts and those from the judicial identification section to carry out an investigation to clarify the circumstances of this accident.

According to initial findings by law enforcement, no other vehicle was involved in the accident.

The SPAL indicates that a coroner’s inquest will look into the precise causes leading to the accident.
