(Montreal) A driver lost his life after being involved in a collision with a heavy truck on Wednesday in Brossard, Montérégie.
The crash happened on Highway 30 East around 4:50 p.m.
“The driver of a vehicle crashed into the back of a heavy truck traveling in the left lane of Highway 30 East, probably following a traffic slowdown,” said Sergeant Stéphane. Tremblay, spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec (SQ).
“The driver of the vehicle suffered serious injuries. He was taken to the hospital center in critical condition, where unfortunately he was found dead,” he said.
The victim is a 65-year-old man.
“Obviously, there was a patrol officer specializing in collision investigation who went to the scene. Highway 30 was closed for a few hours while the police analyzed the scene,” said the SQ spokesperson.
