(Montreal) A cyclist lost his life after being hit by a car Friday night in Brossard, Montérégie.
The accident occurred shortly after 8 p.m. on boulevard Taschereau, near the intersection with boulevard de Rome.
The cyclist, a man in his 50s, was in critical condition when taken to hospital, where he sadly succumbed to his injuries.
“The driver of the vehicle, a man in his twenties, with no apparent injury, was treated for nervous shock,” said agent François Boucher, spokesperson for the Longueuil agglomeration police department (SPAL).
The cause of this collision is still under investigation.
“A stage has been erected. Investigators, accident scene reconstructionists and members of the SPAL Forensic Identification Section were called to the scene. The precise circumstances leading to this accident remain to be determined,” said Officer Boucher.
The SPAL investigation is continuing.
