A vast police operation in Brossard, in Montérégie, ended peacefully on Sunday evening. A 60-year-old who had barricaded himself finally agreed to surrender for a psychiatric evaluation.

The police officers of the Longueuil agglomeration police department (SPAL) moved around 6 p.m. on rue Beaulac, in Brossard. It is a small residential street lined with apartment buildings, and located near the intersection of Highway 10 and Taschereau Boulevard.
A man in his sixties had barricaded himself in a house in the area. After negotiation with the SPAL agents, the man finally surrendered and agreed to be transported to the hospital where he will undergo a psychiatric evaluation, indicates Mélanie Mercille, spokesperson for the SPAL.
