They emerged disappointed from the meeting in the prefecture. Several unions and activists from the Bassines non merci collective spent an hour with the prefect of Deux-Sèvres, Emmanuelle Dubée, this Tuesday at the end of the day. A meeting scheduled for take stock of the organization of the Maraichin Spring which will last three days at Rochénard and should bring together thousands of people.

Thousands of people expected

Julien Le Guet, spokesperson for Bassines non merci, explains that he notably tried to discuss the prefectural decrees which prohibit any demonstration in six municipalities around La Rochénard, and which also prohibit convoys of agricultural machinery, while a convoy of tractors is to launch the demonstration. The prefecture refers “radical evolution” of the movement, one more provocation for the activists who claim to organize a festive and militant mobilization.
