The association’s volunteers Sea Shepherd managed to save the whale which was stranded on Monday, September 19, on a beach in Finistère.

The lifeguards of the association Sea Shepherd dig with their own hands to try to free the whale, without hurting it. All around, backhoe loaders are busy trying to dig a trench and so allow at the rising tide to come to the mammal. After hours of effort, the 15-meter whale finds the sea.

The volunteers, mobilized for 24 hours, felt relief. The whale appeared Monday, September 19 in the morning on a beach in Ploeven (Finistère). Trapped in a bottom of water, she could not move. The rescuers tried to move her a first time with straps, without success. The sea receded and the life of the tired cetacean was in danger. Wet cloths placed on the animal helped to hydrate it. During the month, two other stranded cetaceans could not be saved.
