Britons in shock after Kate Middleton’s cancer announcement

Kate Middleton announced that she had cancer on Friday March 22. On Saturday, the Londoners we met were united in emotion and support. “I am very touched”says a woman, while another judges the situation “truly upsetting[e]”notably because of the young age of the Princess of Wales.

Preventive chemotherapy

Kate Middleton, who had completely disappeared from public life since abdominal surgery in January, finally came out of her reserve on Friday evening, in a video broadcast simultaneously on television and on social networks. “The operation was successful. However, tests carried out after the operation revealed the presence of cancer”she declares, explaining that she is “at the first stage” of a “preventive chemotherapy”. The Princess of Wales wanted to make her platform a universal message: “To all those facing this illness, (…) you are not alone.”
