After six years of absence from the music scene, Britney Spears is making a comeback this Friday with her new single Hold Me Closer, in collaboration with the immense singer that is Elton John. The latter took the opportunity to add his touch since he was inspired, for this title, by three of his songs: Tiny Dancer (1971), The One (1992) and Don’t Go Breaking My Heart (1976). But above all, he gave his support to the singer who really needs it after having lived through many very difficult years.
As a reminder, until his release andn last November, she had been under guardianship since 2008 (his father then became his guardian)a decision made because of his psychological problems. In June 2021, she recounted her ordeal, saying she was “traumatized”. Recently, while an investigation was underway to find out who was behind this legal conviction, information came out in the press according to which the interpreter of Toxic would have been drugged by her manager and lawyer. Not to mention the intrusion into her home by her ex-husband at her marriage to sports coach Sam Asghari and a lot of other troubles.
“I want to be fearless”
Fortunately, she can therefore count on the benevolence of Elton John to help her recover, little by little, from the hair of the beast. The British artist, on the occasion of the release of this new song, revealed that it had been difficult to work with the pretty blonde because she was naturally “afraid” to return to music after what she went through. “It’s hard when you’re young. Britney was broken. I was broken when I got sober. I was in a terrible situation. Now I have the experience to advise people and help them because I don’t want to see artists in a dark place” he said for Guardian, as indicated the Daily Mail.
Anxious about the reaction of the public, Britney Spears therefore made the decision, through a series of messages leaked on Twitter, to deactivate her Instagram account. “I learn that every day marks a new beginning to try to be a better person (…) JI want to be fearless like when I was younger” she explained in particular.
