Thanks to the relaxation of health restrictions, tourists from across the Channel will be able to find the French powder snow. France 2 went to meet ski professionals in Saint-Martin de Belleville.

The town of Saint-Martin de Belleville, in Savoie, cultivates the image of a resort-village that has long attracted British tourists. The latter represent up to 30% of the clientele. And with the easing of health restrictions, the English are making a comeback on the slopes. “This is very good news, even if it comes a little late”, rejoices a tourist in front of the cameras of France 3, Friday January 14, 2022.

The British are eagerly awaited, as they help to boost tourist activity in the region. “It’s a big part of our business”, confirms Marco Boat, ski instructor. And for good reason, the owner of a ski equipment store lost 30% of his turnover due to the absence of the English Christmas. He now hopes to make up for his losses.
