British Rankings | Adele doubly in first place

(London) British singer Adele achieved a rare double on Friday, topping the top of the best-selling albums and singles in the UK, with its long awaited 30, released on November 19, and its flagship song Easy on Me.

The Official Charts Company announced that the album 30 – the pop diva’s first in six years – totaled 261,000 sales this week, becoming the best-selling album within the week of its release in 2021.

30 is therefore the fourth album of the multi-awarded star to occupy the first place of the British charts. The previous ones, 25, 21 and 19, have also made a comeback this week in the charts, rising respectively to the 15e, 18e and 31e places.

The 33-year-old singer-songwriter also retained for the sixth consecutive week the first place in the ranking of singles with its title Easy on me, thus breaking his personal record set with the song Someone Like You, who had remained at the top of the rankings for five weeks.

Of the twelve songs that make up 30, two others won this week in the ranking of singles, Oh my God rising to second place and I Drink Wine to the fourth.

The title of the album, 30, is a reference to Adele’s age when she started it three years ago, when the life of the performer of Hello was only torment, between his divorce and the sudden end to his career.

The Londoner exiled in Los Angeles recently gave herself up to the magazine Vogue to say how cathartic this very personal record was.
