British pop rock band Coldplay announces release of new album

The disc of this new album, available from October 4, will be produced from recycled plastic bottles and post-consumer waste.

The members of Coldplay announced this Monday, June 17, the release of a new album titled “Moon Music” in a press release as well as on their Instagram account. The album, which will be available on October 4, is the group’s tenth studio album. Previous, Music Of The Sphere was unveiled in the summer of 2021. The first single from this new project will be uploaded to streaming platforms this Friday, June 21.

In their press release, the members of Coldplay specify that the album will be the “the world’s first album produced in the form of a 140g rPET EcoRecord. Each copy is made from nine PET plastic bottles, recycled from post-consumer waste”. They thus affirm the ecological commitment which has marked their way of producing music for several years.

In 2019, in the interest of preserving the environment, Coldplay announced the cancellation of their world tour planned for the album Everyday Life. They then explained want to take the time to find a way to reduce the ecological impact of their tours.

Their world tour, presenting numerous innovations, was finally held in 2022. The group then used a rechargeable and removable battery, a first in the world of entertainment, and used energy partly produced by solar panels but also by spectators. via kinetic floors.
