The leaders of the British and Irish Lions announced on Tuesday that they were considering the idea of creating a women’s team.

The British and Irish Lions, which bring together the best English, Welsh, Scottish and Irish rugby players since 1888, announced on Tuesday October 12 that they wanted to launch a study into the possible creation of a women’s Lions team. “It’s an amazing opportunity“, underlined Ben Calveley, executive director of the Lions, who played a game this summer in South Africa (loss 19-16).
Several personalities of British rugby (former players, managers, journalists and economists) will therefore meet to define the foundations and modalities of this future team.
