The health crisis has caused a labor shortage in the United States. Many women left their jobs. Employers do everything to bring them back.

As a routine, Yolanda Jacobs drops off her daughter at her workplace. The SME accepts that its employees come to work with its children. Yolanda Jacobs does it on days when she has no one to pick up her daughter from school. “It really helps to know that my boss is flexible, that’s why I’m staying, she says. Childcare is an issue that her boss, herself a single mother, understands. “In my last salaried job, my boss once told me if I was going to leave early to pick up my child, I was going to be fired. I wondered how, as an SME, I could offer flexible solutions to my employees“, explains Stephanie Synclair.

In the USA, 10 million jobs do not find takers, especially women. Since the pandemic, a third of mothers have quit their job or considered doing so. In California, Cisco’s Director of Engineering Operations, Sonali Natarajan launched a plan to reassure the candidates. “We are very flexible.
