Brilliance to denounce the fur industry in Montreal

Vegan activists are calling for a protest in downtown Montreal on Monday for the 33rd National Anti-Fur Day.

The stunt planned for noon in front of the Hudson’s Bay store on Sainte-Catherine Street West will be held under the generic slogan “I’d rather be naked than wear fur.”

The initiative featuring naked activists is being organized to incite boycotts of the fur industry, according to a statement from Humane Society Canada.

Other demonstrations are also planned in other cities of the country.

“Canada must join its compatriots in prohibiting all animal exploitation in the production and sale of fur,” indicated Dominique Routhier, acting director general and animal biologist of SPA Canada.

The organization reports the existence of several fur farms across Canada, particularly in Quebec. “More than 85% of Canadian manufacturing of fur garments is located in Montreal,” it was specified.

“Boycott the fur industry!” insisted the organizers of the event.
