The Minister of Health, Brigitte Bourguignon, called on the French to put the mask back on transport, Tuesday June 28, 2022. New daily contaminations are on the rise again.

Tuesday June 28, 2022, the mask is still not compulsory in public transport, but it is now recommended by the government. An incentive that does not convince most users. “I work in a school and we don’t wear a mask, so here I don’t think it’s more dangerous in transport than in schools“, explains a Parisian at the tram exit.

Covid-19 contaminations have been on the rise for three weeks with 55,000 new daily cases. So, for some, wearing the mask is a reflex. “For me, the Covid has not completely disappeared. I see it starting again, so I think that to protect ourselves, we have to continue the mask, even if it’s hot“, explains a woman. Making the mask compulsory in transport is not on the agenda for the government. The Minister of Health prefers to speak of incitement.
