Rennes fans will be banned from traveling during the match against PSG on February 11 in Ligue 1, by decision of the Disciplinary Committee of the French Football Federation, for having used smoke bombs in the Coupe de France, announced Friday February 4 the Breton club.

The use of these smoke bombs dates back to the round of 16 lost by Rennes to Nancy (1-1, 4-3 on pens) on January 2. Consequently, “a significant financial penalty has been sent to the club, in addition to a travel ban at the Parc des Princes” next week, Stade Rennes said in a press release.

“Upset at not being able to count on the support of his supporters in Paris and sanctioned by inappropriate behavior from a minority”the club recalled that people using pyrotechnic devices in a stadium were liable to a fine of €15,000 and three years in prison.
