Brendan Gallagher may not return to action this season

(Montreal) Brendan Gallagher will be on the sidelines for another three to four weeks and his season could therefore be over.

The Montreal Canadiens announced the news late Thursday evening.

Gallagher hasn’t played since Jan. 3 with a lower-body injury. He has been spotted with a protective boot on his right foot for the past few weeks.

The fiery winger has been limited to 25 games this season. He had four goals and five assists.

The Canadian also reiterated that the length of Kirby Dach’s absence is indefinite. He is suffering from a lower body injury and has not played since February 14.

Dach set career highs with 12 goals and 23 assists in 54 games.

Finally, the Habs confirmed that defender Arber Xhekaj had shoulder surgery on 1er March. Full recovery is expected.
