The French took advantage of the Agricultural Show, Sunday February 25, to chat in the aisles with breeders and farmers.
“You have the right to make a living from your job”declares a visitor in the aisles of the Agricultural Show, Sunday February 25. “The problem is that we are not paid for the work we provide. The Lactalis group has been killing farmers for 20 years. Why isn’t the French state summoning people?”, replies Louis Gurliat, breeder in Haute-Savoie. Throughout the day, French people and farmers exchanged views. “We will try to support them by trying to make the right choices. On a daily basis, eat less meat, but eat better”assures a visitor.
All generations
“It’s common for people to support us. But what I regret is that nothing is done. Now we will have to make a choice, if we want to feed ourselves well: support French agriculture. Otherwise a One day or another, we’ll eat shit.”, explains Samuel Dano, breeder in Morbihan. The farmers’ anger resonated with all generations. “The agricultural crisis has affected a large part of our generation”said a student to a farmer. “It’s important, it’s the future, it’s they who will sustain us later”reacts his interlocutor.
