(Rio de Janeiro) Singer Anitta has blocked Jair Bolsonaro on her twitter account after the Brazilian president’s ironic comments about the colors of the national flag she wore in a performance at the Coachella festival in California.

“Ah man, find yourself something to do, go,” Anitta wrote in response to a tweet from the president before immediately blocking him from interacting with her again.

“I blocked him immediately so that the administrators of his account could no longer access my networks to create buzz on the internet,” explained the singer, critic of the far-right Brazilian president.

“The Brazilian flag and its colors belong to all BRAZILIANS. They represent all of Brazil. No one can appropriate the meaning of the colors of the flag of our country, ”wrote the singer on Twitter after her show in which she appeared dressed in the colors of her country: green, yellow and blue.

Mr. Bolsonaro, presidential candidate in October, was quick to respond with a touch of irony: “I agree with Anitta”, adding several emoticons and the flag of Brazil and attracting the wrath of the singer.

“Now, any artist who criticizes him gets mockery from him,” she explained. “Our strategy must be to talk about him as little as possible.”

“I take a stand as a citizen and as an artist, explained the singer recently. And I will continue to do so, regardless of the government in place. In the current conjuncture, Brazil needs a lot of changes, and first of all a change of government”.

Anitta, 29, has 16.7 million followers on Twitter, 17.9 million on TikTok and 61.5 million on Instagram.

His tube Enveloplaunched in November, has been listened to more than 71 million times on Spotify where it has become world number 1.
