Brazilian football legend Pelé left hospital in Sao Paulo where he was treated for a urinary tract infection, the establishment announced on Monday (February 28th). He will therefore continue his chemotherapy.

Pelé, 81 years old, “was cleared from hospital on Saturday”wrote his doctors in a press release, after a two-week hospitalization. “He is clinically stable, recovered from his urinary tract infection and continued treatment for a colon tumor detected in September 2021”continue his doctors.

The health of the three-time World Cup winner with Brazil (1958, 1962, 1970) has been fragile for years. Before this last hospitalization since February 13, “King” Pelé had already made a two-week stay in December at the Albert Einstein hospital.

This time again, little information has leaked out on his real state of health. With each hospital stay, Pelé or his family post photos on social networks to reassure his many fans. Pelé had been hospitalized in the same hospital for a month between August and September 2021. He had been removed from a cancerous colon tumor detected during routine examinations.
