(Washington) Donald Trump on Thursday gave his “fullest support” to the re-election campaign of Brazilian leader Jair Bolsonaro, “a great guy”, in the words of the former American president.

“Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro, the ‘Trump of the Tropics’ as he is nicknamed, has done a great job for the wonderful people of Brazil,” praised Donald Trump on his network, Truth Social.
The far-right Brazilian leader is a great admirer of Donald Trump, known like him for his inopportune use of social networks, his provocative style and numerous slippages.
“He’s a great guy who has my fullest support,” assured the Republican billionaire.
The October 2 presidential election is the most polarized in Brazil’s recent history. Polls show Jair Bolsonaro losing to former President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva.
Some fear that he will challenge the result of the ballot in the event of defeat, risking provoking scenes of violence, such as those on Capitol Hill in Washington by supporters of Donald Trump in January 2021.
