In Brazil, the turquoise waters of the Sucuriú River attract a handful of tourists every day, curious to discover unique biodiversity. The 20 Hours teams will take you to discover this exceptional site.

In the heart of the Brazilian Far West, it seems painted by Man. River Sucuriú takes its name from the snakes that inhabit its banks. Every day, a quota of 80 tourists comes to float in these waters, among the most crystal clear in the world. “The limestone present in the soil and rock functions as a natural water filter”explain Gilmar Maiaa tour guide. After two kilometers of boating, a family is ready to be swept away by the current. Under their mask, it’s an aquatic safari. The river is a sanctuary for more than 30 species of fish.

Many secrets

The waters are translucent even in the bowels of the earth. The region’s agricultural properties are full of lakes and deep craters. To discover the abyss ofAnhumasyou must have the heart well hung. “The opening of the cave is not big, barely 10 meters out of 10, but it opens onto a cavern the size of a football field”explains a guide. This playground is unique in the world. “I was speechless for the last few minutes. It’s incredible”assures a Dutch tourist. The depths of the abyss have not yet been fully discovered. The waters of Benito still have secrets to reveal.
