Brawl in Montreal North | Three police officers in hospital and five arrests

(Montreal) Three police officers were transported to a Montreal hospital in the middle of the night on Monday after being involved in clashes with alleged participants in a fight that occurred in the Montreal-North borough.

The Montreal City Police Service (SPVM) clarified at the end of the night that there was no fear for the lives of the injured police officers. Furthermore, five suspects were arrested.

According to the SPVM, it was a call made around 2:35 a.m. to 911 that led the first police officers to go to the scene of the fight which took place on Arthur-Chevrier Street. When the agents arrived, they tried to obtain information from some of the belligerents, but they did not obtain collaboration from them.

A brief foot chase occurred shortly after, during which a female officer was struck. Reinforcements were requested by the police.

The arrested suspects were taken away by the police who set up a security perimeter at the scene of the clashes. The investigation was still ongoing at the end of the night.
