The Licorne brewery, formerly Saverne brewery, is an Alsatian brewery based in Saverne. The brewery, again independent since 2020, produces 1 million hectoliters per year. For several years, the establishment located in Saverne, has been innovating and investing to be more and more respectful of the environment. For unicorn, it is essential to brew responsibly! And now the results are here:
- 92% self-produced hot water
- 3.5 L of water for 1L of beer
- 290 tonnes of CO2/year not emitted
To achieve this, the brewery has implemented various processes to recover energy throughout production. New stainless steel chimney, installation of an osmosis unit, boiling steam recovery system, everything that can reduce the carbon footprint has been introduced. And between now and 2025, Brasserie Licorne will continue to put virtuous pressure on itself to have a production always more respectful of the environment. It aims in particular a reduction in its energy resources – electricity, gas, water – ranging from 20 to 30%.
