The two Hollywood icons, George Clooney and his colleague Brad Pitt, have a new cinema project in common! The two Oscar-winning actors have also revealed that they have agreed to lower their salaries for a very specific reason.
The film, which has no title yet, will be a thriller like a tale, in which two lone wolf characters will be assigned to the same mission. It will be written and directed by Jon Watts, who is a hit in the cinema with his Spider-Man: No Way Home.
“Yeah, for Brad and me, it was an exciting time because it was one of those bidding wars that happens from time to time, and it ended up being pretty extreme, in the end. Apple came up with a really big number for both of us, explained the actor and husband of the sublime Amal for Deadline, before adding, “We replied that we would like to take less money as long as we can guarantee the film will be released in theaters. And they said great.”
The two actors who no longer make money an absolute priority (as Clooney proved by refusing 35 million dollars for a day of publicity!) are therefore in favor of keeping traditional cinema, in theaters and not on a screen at home. The star of Gravity spoke about the new issues related to cinema in streaming : “I think there’s a way we can all coexist. You know I think there is a possibility to consider this. There are a lot of movies that are very funny to watch on the big screen. For example, the movie I’m doing with Julia Roberts right now is a Universal movie and it’s a comedy. And comedies are fun to watch in a room full of people.”
George Clooney will star in Ticket to Paradise with Julia Roberts, of Ol Parker. Brad Pitt, meanwhile, will present babylon of rising film star Damien Chazelle (Lalaland) alongside Margot Robbie.
