BPM Sports | Martin Lemay apologizes for “inappropriate” comments made on air

The host of the BPM Sports station, Martin Lemay, publicly apologized for having made “inappropriate comments” on Tuesday during his daily show The return of athletes.

Martin Lemay was not at his post behind the microphone on Wednesday at 3 p.m., when his show began. The said program rather began with the intervention of a station boss, Alexandre Panneton. He apologized to the CF Montreal organization for comments made by his host on Tuesday, mentioning that measures had been taken internally.

The Press made the decision not to accurately report the comments in question, which could be deemed defamatory towards the Saputo family.

In the hour that followed, Martin Lemay published a long text of apology on his social networks, addressing BPM Sports listeners, his colleagues as well as the organization and supporters of CF Montreal.

“Yesterday, on the return of athletes show, I made inappropriate comments on BPM Sports. I would like to apologize most sincerely for this. People have been hurt and angry by my comments, and rightfully so. »

“I understand the wrongs I have done and I want to apologize for them. I am not trying to diminish the impact of my words, on the contrary. I want to take 100% responsibility for my words. The words I said have no place, period. I will do what needs to be done so that my apology is heard by anyone who may or may not have been offended by my inappropriate words. »

Mr. Lemay indicates that he apologized in person to the management of CF Montreal, towards whom he says he has “nothing but respect”.

“This is a first mistake in my career and I assure you that it will be the last,” concludes the host.
