(Paris) Algerian boxer Imane Khelif, who found herself at the heart of a gender controversy during the Paris Olympics, qualified for the final of the -66 kg tournament on Tuesday, ensuring herself at least a silver medal.
In a highly charged Roland-Garros stadium, won over by her cause, the 25-year-old Algerian beat Thai Janjaem Suwannapheng on points in the semi-finals, with the judges unanimously deciding. The final is scheduled for Friday at 9:50 p.m.
