Box office | Kung Fu Panda 4 dethrones Dune: Part Two in Quebec too

The animated film Kung Fu Panda 4 not only rose to the top of the North American box office, it also completed this feat in Quebec. The panda Po and his gang have dethroned Dune: Part Twoby Quebec filmmaker Denis Villeneuve, last weekend.

During its first weekend in theaters, from March 8 to 10, the family feature film directed by Stephanie Stine and Mike Mitchell recorded revenues of $1.6 million in the province. During the same period, Dune: Part Tworeleased a week earlier, collected $1.2 million, for cumulative receipts of $4.5 million in Quebec.

We can bet that the spring break of thousands of Quebec students partly explains the popularity of Kung Fu Panda 4which, in its original version, featured the voices of Jack Black and Viola Davis.

Movies Imaginary, Bob Marley: One Love And Migration complete the top 5 at the Quebec box office from March 8 to 10.
