Boucherville | Aircraft crashes near Highway 20, pilot slightly injured

(Boucherville) A small aircraft crashed Wednesday afternoon near Highway 20. No car was hit and the pilot suffered non-life-threatening injuries.


According to the Sûreté du Québec (SQ), the accident occurred around 1:40 p.m. on Highway 20 at kilometer 94, in the Boucherville sector.

“The pilot, who was alone on board, may have lost control of his aircraft after takeoff and attempted to land on the highway,” said Ève Brochu Joubert, spokesperson for the SQ.

The aircraft ultimately crashed in a ditch near Highway 20.

The 33-year-old pilot was taken to hospital for treatment of minor injuries. The aircraft sustained damage and was towed for analysis.

The Transportation Safety Board of Canada (TSB) took charge of the investigation to determine the causes and circumstances of this crash.
