Boubacar Kamara confirms his departure from OM, his future club “soon” announced

Defensive midfielder Boubacar Kamara, trained in Marseille and where he started his professional career at the end of 2016, confirms “leave OM at the end of the season” in an interview broadcast on Sunday by TF1, indicating that the identity of his future club would be “soon” unveiled.

“After long reflections – nights when we don’t sleep, we weigh the pros and cons – I made the decision not to extend and to leave OM at the end of the season. I think that It’s the best decision for the rest of my career.”announced Kamara in the Téléfoot program.

The 22-year-old player, capable of evolving as a defensive midfielder or central defender, is courted by several foreign clubs. The name of Atlético Madrid has been mentioned with insistence in recent days by the specialized press. “I have made my choice, you will soon know”he simply replied.

The native of Marseille, who arrived at OM at the age of five and who defines himself as “a young man from a neighborhood who ends up at the Vélodrome”, reaches the end of the contract at the end of June. His future club will therefore not have to pay transfer compensation to OM.

“I have reached a stage in my career where I want to evolve, to discover a new challenge, a new championship, a new country, a new culture”, he developed. He will therefore have played his last match on Saturday with the Marseille jersey in the 4-0 victory against Strasbourg on the occasion of the final day of Ligue 1, synonymous with direct qualification for the next Champions League.
