Several people are hospitalized and one died after ingesting canned sardines made at home by a Bordeaux restaurateur. They were all poisoned by botulism. The probability that the bacteria was ingested by consuming these sardines is therefore very high.

In Bordeaux (Gironde)eight people poisoned by botulism are still hospitalized. In Île-de-France, a person died and another is in intensive care. In Spain, in Barcelona, a case was also recorded. What they have in common is that they all consumed the same thing in the same place: canned sardines made at home by the restaurateur of an establishment in the center of Bordeaux.

Between 20 and 30 cases reported each year
