Enmanuel Valdez and Jarren Duran hit solo home runs and the Boston Red Sox beat the Blue Jays 7-3 on Wednesday, completing a three-game series sweep in Toronto.
Brayan Bello allowed two runs in six innings, helping the Red Sox earn their fifth straight victory.
Boston has only lost twice in ten games.
For the Blue Jays, Addison Barger and Justin Turner each had two hits and scored a run.
The Toronto club suffered its first sweep this season.
In addition to committing four errors, the Blue Jays were 1 for 15 with runners in scoring position.
The Red Sox took advantage of a defensive blunder to score in the third inning.
At third base, Barger botched a routine grounder from Romy Gonzalez. He stole second base, then scored on a David Hamilton single.
In each of the first three innings, the Jays had runners on first and second base. Bello (7-4) escaped without damage each time.
Valdez made it 2-0 in the fourth with his sixth homer of the season.
In the Blue Jays’ next at-bat, they got three hits in a row. The lead was cut in half with a timely single from Kevin Kiermaier.
After a stolen base and a walk, Toronto created the deadlock thanks to a double play ball hit by Justin Turner.
In the fifth, Duran broke the tie by sending the ball 433 feet from the plate.
An inning later, Kiermaier made an excellent catch at the warning track in center field, on a long ball from Dominic Smith.
Masataka Yoshida, however, was able to advance to third base, before scoring on an infield single from Gonzalez.
Arriving in relief of Kevin Gausman (5-6), Tim Mayza then conceded a single point to Duran.
In five and two-thirds innings, Gausman gave up five runs, six hits and three walks.
The Blue Jays chipped away at a run via a bad pitch from Justin Slaten in the seventh, but the visitors responded with two runs in the eighth inning.
The Red Sox have already completed four road sweeps this season.
The Blue Jays will begin a six-game trip Friday in Cleveland.
