Long shunned and cataloged as “has-been sandals for tourists”, Birkenstocks are making a big comeback this year… so much so that some models are out of stock worldwide! These last few years have indeed proven to us that comfort is more trendy than ever: ugly dad shoes are prized for their impossibility and their comfy side and UGGs known for their unequaled comfort have also become more trendy than ever.
Last spring, we witnessed the event of the “Arizona” mule sandals from Birkenstock, which were then seen on the feet of all fashionistas around the world during the summer. At the same time, another model from the famous German brand also caused a stir. We are of course talking about the famous “Boston”, clogs with a comfortable sole appreciated in mid-season in particular because the toes are hidden.
Recognizable thanks to their rounded toe and buckle closure, the “Boston” clogs were born in 1977 and are enjoying new health 45 years later. We wear them today with mom jeans and an oversized blazer to continue a chic normcore look or to finalize an urban chic look straight from Amsterdam consisting of black leggings, a pair of white sports socks rolled up and a very soft oversized sweatshirt.
As for the colors, it is the models in taupe suede, beige suede and camel suede that are snapping up at the moment because they are the most stylish and the easiest to combine. Note, however, that there are also models in black leather for more elegance.
