For their employees, they are Christmas bosses. On the evening of Thursday, December 21, the 80 employees of François-Régis du Mesnil left the drinking water pipes aside for a Christmas dinner. To celebrate the 20% growth in two years, the boss has planned a surprise for them: a company trip, to choose between Kenya and Portugal. Eventually it will offer both. These trips represent 230,000 euros in bills for the company. “A golden boss”judges an employee, while another emphasizes never having “heard screaming”. “We don’t feel much stronger together”summarizes François-Régis du Mesnil for his part.
Companies in very good health
André Pecqueur, an 80-year-old brewer, is also generous for Christmas: a bonus of 1,000 euros for his 800 employees, or 800,000 euros to pay, in addition to the 5% increase for all employees. “We work. When we don’t agree we tell each other. Sometimes it gets annoying. (…) It’s not always a smooth river”, confides the boss. Jean-Jacques Arquisch, CFDT trade unionist, approves: “We talk easily and we always manage to find arrangements.” The two generous companies are showing double-digit growth, expanding new markets and recruiting very regularly.
