(Montreal) A man in his forties was injured in a stabbing attack on Monday evening in the borough of Ville-Marie, in Montreal. A suspect fled the scene before police arrived.
The Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) was notified around 8:40 p.m. that an incident had occurred at the intersection of Sainte-Catherine Est and Atateken streets, in the Village sector.
When they arrived at the scene, the officers found the victim, a 41-year-old man, injured by “what could be a stab,” said Jeanne Drouin, spokesperson for the SPVM.
The man was eventually taken to hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
According to the first information collected by the Montreal police, a suspect fled on foot in a southerly direction on Atateken Street. No description was provided and no other arrests were made immediately.
A security perimeter has been set up around the place where this attack took place. Investigators were to go there to gather more information on what happened.
