Borough of Lachine | Pedestrian hit by car seriously injured

Authorities fear for the life of a pedestrian who was hit by a motorist in the borough of Lachine on Friday.

A call was made to 911 Friday noon concerning a collision between a motorist and a man in his forties in the borough of Lachine, at the intersection of rue Saint-Jacques and avenue Saint-Pierre, indicates the Service Montreal City Police.

The pedestrian was immediately transferred to a hospital in Montreal, while he suffers from serious injuries, in particular to the head, underlines Raphaël Bergeron, spokesperson for the SPVM. Medical authorities also confirm that the man is in critical condition.

The suspect presented himself at a police station after the incident, and he would be charged with assault with a weapon, said the publicist.

A security perimeter was established at the scene of the event to carry out the investigation. According to the authorities, the sector is to be avoided.
